Art Sonje Cafe
One of the most popular hanok cafes in Seoul, this one is a Seoul Lane favourite.
The Art Sonje Center is an art gallery on a lane in the historic Samcheong-dong neighbourhood in the center of the city.
In the garden of the gallery stands this small hanok, or Korean traditional house, which accommodates the gallery cafe.
The space has the natural warmth and texture of timber, with soft light coming through the traditional timber and paper screens.
There's a small menu of delicious teas, coffee and traditional sweets. We've shown here the Magnolia petal tea, which had such a delicate and refreshing flavour.
