Unyu Tea Salon

A tea house that specialises in fragrant Pu'er tea served in fine Korean tea ware, Unyu Tea Salon is a serene contemporary interior on a quiet lane in Busan.

The interior design, with its deep hues and subtle textures, creates a feeling of calm which is perfect to enjoy tea at leisure.  The space is softly lit, with dark surfaces providing a backdrop for beautiful ceramic art works, including vases and tea ware. 

Although the mood is modern and minimalist, it is enriched by textural traditional crafts such as woven natural fabrics.  The displayed ceramics also ensure that the space is layered with meaning and cultural heritage.

As always in Korean traditional culture, the tea is accompanied by the display of fine art and natural elements such as flowers and leaves. 

The tea is brewed and served using a set of small ceramic pieces: a tea pot, a jug and a tea cup. The beautiful tea ware is tiny, with delicate cups that seem like thimbles.

Each piece of hand-crafted Korean ceramic tea ware carries centuries of traditional craft techniques and the creative expression of the artist in its petite form.
