White Octagon Platform

A classic faceted form in pure White Korean Porcelain, the edges of this minimalist work are gently rounded.

The glaze is transparent and has only a low level of gloss.

The ceramic platform is a traditional item of the Korean interior. A simple way to add beauty to daily life, it literally elevates whatever you put on top, like a small sprig of flowers or a few sweets.

Korean White Porcelain, or Baekja, was the choice of royalty from the early Joseon era (1392-1897) for its high quality and simple elegance embodying the Confucian values of purity and modesty.  It is still crafted today using the same centuries-old techniques.
